Blood Donation Services Prove Life-Saving for Cancer Patients: Prof. Bhatt

Lucknow: A blood donation camp was successfully organised today at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The drive was held under the joint aegis of Seva Bharati, Samrat Vikramaditya Seva Sansthan, and the Drug Vendors Welfare Committee, with departmental head Dr. Anju Dubey leading the initiative.

Institute Director and Chief Guest Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt lauded the organisers, emphasising that voluntary blood donation plays a crucial role in saving the lives of cancer patients and other critically ill individuals. “Such humanitarian services are life-saving for patients battling cancer and severe illnesses,” he said, calling the initiative both timely and impactful.

Former MLA Devmani Dwivedi, who attended as the special guest, encouraged donors and commended their contribution to society.

A total of 20 units of blood were collected during the camp, which will directly benefit several patients currently undergoing treatment at the cancer institute.

The programme saw the presence of several office-bearers and volunteers from associated social organisations, including Surendra Mishra, Om Prakash Pandey, Narendra Agarwal, Anand Pandey, Dr. Varun Vijay, and Dr. Ayush Lohia. Participants pledged to continue organising similar service-oriented activities in the future.

Programme convenor and Seva Bharati Vice President Surendra Mishra extended gratitude to all guests, donors, and volunteers for their enthusiastic support.
